Holy Light

Kia ora

From another gloriously warm day in New Zealand. We live 15km from the nearest shops and we don't have a car, we sold it when we moved on to the boat. We can catch a bus to the shops but we only get one an hour this far out, which is fine, but my neighbor can't imagine it so she gave me a lift today. It  was very kind of her, but it meant that I had to rush around and not take my time like I would normally do. Shopping has now become a day outing for me because there is no popping to the shops in the car lols. It's funny but it's how we shopped when we were little, Mum had to get the bus in to town or walk, luckily for her town was only 3km away from the house and the buses ran every 20 minutes.

Enough with the reminiscing and on to todays card.

I'd like to enter the following card in the Crafty Little Fairies Challenge Christmas in November.

I colored in this image Holy-Light from LOTV when I was still on the boat using my water color pencils and I think it came out all right. The DP is Peppermint Express by American Crafts and I got the idea for the card when I watched this video on youtube by Vicky Papaioannou. I've been watching her for a while now and I like what she does. This is a link to her blog

That's about it.
Thanks for stopping by.
And as always

Keep Well x

  1. Great card. I love that it looks like she's walking up the presents. Your colouring is really well done, the colour of her hair is especially good.
I watched the video you recommended, it is really useful, not sure about her background music though lol.
I can actually see a bit of blue sky today here but it's a bit breezy and cold. Wish I was in NZ! Debra x

    1. Thanks Debra, afterwards I wondered wether I should have made the presents into stairs… it's an idea for next time though.
It's so good a summer in the southern hemisphere and then a summer in the northern. We have what I call big sky country out here with the bluest clearest skies you'll see anywhere and being at altitude where we live it's often crisp and invigorating. I love it.
Anyway I hope things are going well with your Mum.
